About Me
My name is Natalie, and I live in Bath with my husband, our two children, and our two cats.
I could tell you a whimsical story about how I fell in love with painting meadows and flowers, but the truth is much simpler. It was the beginning of 2020. We had just moved into our new home—a year many remember for the pandemic, but for us it was also about turning a house into a home.
We were lucky to have a beautiful, well-established garden. Craving a new hobby, I began painting the flowers around me. I set up outside at first simply to avoid making a mess indoors—I really don’t like mess! But over time, the garden became my sanctuary. For months that year, it was my happy place, and I drew endless inspiration from the colours and beauty that surrounded me.
With very few traditional art supplies to hand, my painting journey began in unexpected ways—on stones, old kitchen cupboard doors, interesting scraps of wood, even offcuts of skirting boards.
I was slow to believe the kind and encouraging comments people shared about my paintings. But gradually, those words began to settle. I started to trust my instincts more, experimenting with new techniques, embracing more texture, more layers — and yes, more mess. My work became less about perfection and more about capturing the chaotic beauty of wildflowers — the movement, the energy, the way nature refuses to be arranged.
And so here I am — gently stepping out of my comfort zone and into a new adventure, sharing the joy and colour that began in my garden with you.

Early paintings in 2020 and 2021 - The first painting was done on a stone found in the garden, the second was a piece wood and the third is a kitchen cabinet which was destined for the skip during our house renovations!
